SUMMARY of the 1st RAINBOW BALTIC REGIONAL MEETING
for AMNESTY &OTHER HUMAN RIGHTS WORKERS - - Riga, August 24, 2003:
Delegates to the Moonbow 2003 festival in Riga: Olga Padunovo (Amnesty group in Minsk), Bill Schiller (ILGCN-Nordic & Nordic Homo Council),Demitrij Zinovjev (Tupilak-Latvia)
REPORTS were presented from:
Special guest, Olga Podunova, LGBT Amnesty group in Minsk-Gomel,
(including an appeal for solidarity and a future
international meeting in Belarus.)

FILM SCREENINGS:
'Less than Human' -- Amnesty-Netherlands, 'The Last Waltz' -- Sweden
ART WORK displayed:
Latvian, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian artists -- including Sweden's
ILGCN cultural ambassador Nina Boström's photo exhibit, '1st Jerusalem
Pride' and the HOSI-Linz/Tupilak photo exhibit 'Voyage to Auschwitz.'
DECISIONS:
1. To renew efforts to establish closer contacts with more groups and individuals in the Baltic region.
2. Make special efforts to help re-establish the LGBT groups which have stopped functioning in the Nordic region.
3. To collect more Nordic and Baltic homo cultural information and
material
to be shared between members and others outside of the Baltic
region.
4. The 2nd Baltic Rainbow meeting will be shared between St.Petersburg in May, 2004 and Minsk-Gomel in August, 2004.
